Snowed-in Saturday..

Never thought I would see the day! 20+ inches of snow! WOW! the cable is all messed up as well which is not good at all considering tomorrow is Super bowl Sunday. Thankfully it's not the Steelers but, my darling husband is a HUGE Saints fan. I know know that when then national weather service calls for 3-6 inches of snow that they could be dead wrong. So shopping ahead is the best idea. Thankfully we do have some stuff but wont be having the super bowl spread that I wanted to put out for my crew. I may try to make a football shaped cake or something. I can make some pita bread and hummus as well but that is about all. I gave my blogs a face lift I hope you enjoy the new looks check out http://clinestreetkitchen.blogspot.com/ & http://crawfordville.blogspot.com/

Work in progress Wednesday.

Life is just that it seems a work in progress. Friday is my "big" shopping day. This may sound insane to some but I love the chaos of a 4 cart trip. generally I stock up on our bulk supplies and meat for the month. Generally $800 feeds our family of 6 for 3-4 weeks. That may sound high to some but in our region organic foods are expensive, grass fed hormone free range meat is outrageous but worth it to feed our bodies and minds. My recent conquest is eliminating HFCS from our diets which is proving to be hard but doable. Today I am working on clipping coupons and our menu for the month. Its pretty important to know what your making for the month when you eliminate weekly or daily shopping trips.

Blog Changes...

New year new Ideas! I haven't blogged in a while shame on me! We where with out internet for a while with the move and then switching our service provider. I'm back in action again. This year I will be focusing on two of my favorite hobbies cooking and photography, so expect to see some of that here. I am doing "project 365" and have a different blog for that. I may keep my cooking stuff here or even start another blog for that. Lets see how well I do with the 2 first. Life has been wonderful since our move we just have so much outdoor space a shame its all covered in snow. I look forward to having my first real garden this year. and also look forward to the lots bbq's and outdoor fun with the girls (I'm ready for winter to be over can you tell LOL)

MGR's TWBA for the week of 8.31.09

From Kristin: Do you work better with a routine? Or do you prefer to fly by the seat of your pants? Or maybe it's in between. Post about it. You can post a daily routine. You can post about not having a routine. You can post about how you want a routine. Or how you used to be routined and something happened and you're not. (Not that it's happened to me or anything!)

Uh well, I do try to have somewhat of a Routine, as in meal planning, bedtimes etc. A cleaning routine. but as far as a regimented daily schedule it just never happens kids are unpredictable and trying to follow a set schedule tends to stress me out if I don't follow it. Therefore I am a "fly by the seat of your pants" kinda mama 90% of the time
now just because this is a blog assignment you didn't think you would get away without some form of images.. here is a look at our weekly menu. I post this on the fridge and avoid the MOM WHATS FOR DINNER line..usually LOL

however this is just a guide, meaning we will cook these meals at some point this week we often swap days and tonight eating out we have the kids open house and no time to cook.
